UnderHost pre-sales FAQ: common questions

Answers to common questions people ask before ordering from UnderHost: infrastructure ownership, no banner ads, minimum contracts, international customers,

On this page

These are questions UnderHost hears regularly from new customers evaluating their options. If something isn't answered here, reach out to support-the team is happy to answer pre-sales questions before you commit.

Is UnderHost a reseller?

No. UnderHost owns and operates its own servers. Founded in 2007, the company has maintained direct ownership of its hardware and network infrastructure since the beginning. There is no middleman-UnderHost manages its own NOC, handles support directly, and controls its own network.

This matters because resellers typically have limited ability to resolve server-level issues. With UnderHost, the support team has direct access to the physical infrastructure.

Does UnderHost place ads on my website?

No. UnderHost never injects banners, advertisements, or any third-party content into your website. What you publish is what visitors see-always. This applies to every plan, including entry-level shared hosting.

Is there a minimum contract or commitment?

No long-term contract is required. Monthly billing is available with no commitment beyond the current billing period. Longer cycles (quarterly, semi-annual, annual) are optional and offered at a discount, but they are never mandatory.

Eligible first-time shared hosting and reseller hosting plans are covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee only where the guarantee is expressly advertised. VPS, cloud servers, dedicated servers, domains, licenses, addons, and provisioned third-party costs are non-refundable. See the refund policy for full terms.

Do you accept international customers?

Yes. UnderHost serves clients in over 100 countries. International orders are processed identically to Canadian orders. Bitcoin payments make it easy to pay from any country regardless of local banking restrictions.

UnderHost's offshore hosting options in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Caribbean, and other locations are particularly popular with international clients who prefer servers outside Canada. See offshore server locations.

What content is allowed?

UnderHost prohibits content that is illegal under Canadian law, harmful to others, or violates the Acceptable Use Policy. Prohibited content includes:

  • Warez, pirated software, or illegal file sharing (torrent sites, MP3 distribution, etc.)
  • Malware, phishing, spam campaigns, or DDoS-for-hire tools
  • Child sexual abuse material or other illegal content

Adult content policies vary by server location. On Canadian servers, adult content is not permitted. On certain offshore locations, legal adult content may be allowed-contact support before ordering to confirm what applies to your situation.

Offshore hosting for sensitive or privacy-focused content

UnderHost's offshore plans are designed for content that benefits from DMCA-relaxed jurisdictions and stronger privacy law. See offshore hosting and DMCA for what this means in practice.

What support is included with every plan?

All UnderHost plans include 24/7 technical support via the ticket system in CustomerPanel. Support covers hosting platform issues, server-side problems, and general guidance on hosting features. The team also assists with common WordPress, email, and DNS questions.

See How to contact UnderHost support for response time expectations and how to submit a ticket.
