Acceptable Use Policy overview
What is and isn't permitted on UnderHost services. Prohibited content, spam, illegal activity, and resource usage rules that apply to all hosting plans including offshore.
On this page
The Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines what activities and content are permitted on UnderHost infrastructure. All customers agree to the AUP when signing up. Violations can result in service suspension or termination.
Prohibited content and activities
The following are prohibited on all UnderHost services, including offshore plans:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Child exploitation | Any material depicting or involving minors sexually-zero tolerance, no exceptions |
| Spam | Bulk unsolicited email, phishing campaigns, spam scripts |
| Malware distribution | Hosting or distributing viruses, trojans, ransomware, exploit kits |
| DDoS attacks | Running tools or services used to attack other servers |
| Fraud | Phishing sites, fake shops, carding, identity theft tools |
| Network abuse | Port scanning, IP spoofing, packet amplification attacks |
| Illegal content | Content illegal under the laws of the hosting jurisdiction |
Resource usage rules
On shared hosting, resource limits protect all customers on the server:
- CPU and memory limits are enforced by CloudLinux per account
- Running cryptocurrency mining scripts is prohibited on shared hosting
- Processes running excessively long or consuming excessive I/O may be terminated
- IRC servers, game servers, and high-bandwidth applications are not permitted on shared hosting-use a VPS for these
Enforcement
AUP violations are handled as follows:
- First violation (minor, unintentional)-notification with a request to remediate
- Continued violation-service suspension until resolved
- Severe violation (spam, malware, CSAM)-immediate termination without refund
If your site was compromised by a hacker and is being used for prohibited activity without your knowledge, contact support immediately. We work with customers in these situations to remediate and restore service.

If you're unsure whether your intended use is permitted, open a Sales / Custom Quote ticket before ordering. We'll confirm whether your use case is acceptable-it's much better to ask first than to have service terminated after ordering.
