How to renew your domain name
Renew a domain registered with UnderHost before it expires. Enable auto-renew, pay manually, or recover an expired domain.
Domains expire on a specific date each year. If not renewed before expiry, the domain stops working and may eventually become available for others to register. Set up auto-renew to avoid accidental expiry.
Enabling auto-renew
Auto-renew charges your saved payment method and renews the domain automatically before expiry. To enable it:
- Log in to CustomerPanel
- Go to Services → My Domains
- Click your domain name
- Find Auto-Renew and set it to Enabled
You'll receive a renewal notification by email before the automatic charge. If the charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds), the domain may not renew-keep your payment method up to date.
Renewing manually
To renew a domain manually before it expires:
- Log in to CustomerPanel → Services → My Domains
- Click your domain
- Click Renew Now
- Pay the renewal invoice
Domain renewals are usually processed within minutes. Your expiry date is extended immediately.
You can renew a domain up to 1 year in advance. Renewing early doesn't shorten your current registration-it simply extends the expiry date by the renewal period.
My domain expired-what now?
If your domain expires, it goes through a grace period (usually 30–45 days after expiry) during which you can still renew it, often at the normal price. After the grace period, it enters a Redemption Period (up to 30 days more) during which recovery may cost significantly more. After that, the domain is released for public registration.
If your domain has recently expired, log in to CustomerPanel → Services → My Domains and look for a renewal or recovery option. Open a billing ticket if you need help restoring an expired domain.
