How to log in to cPanel (and fix login issues)

Find your cPanel URL, reset your password, and resolve the most common login errors including blank screens, wrong credentials, and port blocks.

On this page

cPanel is the control panel that manages your hosting account-files, databases, email, SSL, and more. If you can't log in, this guide covers every common cause and fix.

Find your cPanel URL

Your cPanel URL is in your welcome email. It follows one of these formats:

MethodURL format
Via domain (SSL port)https://yourdomain.com:2083
Via server hostnamehttps://server-hostname.underhost.com:2083
Via server IPhttps://YOUR.SERVER.IP:2083
Via CustomerPanelServices → My Services → Login to cPanel
Use CustomerPanel to log in

The easiest way is to log in to CustomerPanel, go to Services → My Services, click your hosting plan, and then click Login to cPanel. This uses an auto-login token and doesn't require your cPanel password.

Logging in

On the cPanel login page, enter your cPanel username and password. These are separate from your CustomerPanel login credentials.

  • Your cPanel username is shown in your welcome email (usually a short version of your domain or the account name you chose).
  • Your cPanel password was set during account setup. If you haven't changed it, use the one from your welcome email.

Reset your cPanel password

There's no "forgot password" link directly on the cPanel login page. To reset it:

  1. Log in to CustomerPanel

Go to customerpanel.ca and log in with your billing account credentials (the email you used to sign up).

  2. Open your hosting service

Go to Services → My Services and click on your hosting plan.

  3. Change the password

Look for Change Password in the service details page. Enter a new, strong password and save. This updates your cPanel password immediately.

Port 2083 blocked

Some networks (corporate, hotel, or strict firewalls) block non-standard ports like 2083. If you can't reach cPanel on port 2083, try these alternatives:

PortURLNotes
2083https://domain:2083Standard HTTPS port (preferred)
2082http://domain:2082Standard HTTP port (insecure)
N/ACustomerPanel → Login to cPanelBypasses direct port access entirely
Use a VPN or mobile data

If you're on a restricted network, connecting via a VPN or switching to mobile data (which uses a different network) will bypass corporate firewall rules that block cPanel's port.

Other login issues

If you access cPanel via your domain (https://yourdomain.com:2083) before DNS has propagated to your server, or before SSL is issued, you'll see a certificate warning. Use the server hostname or IP address instead, or accept the warning temporarily. The hostname-based URL in your welcome email always has a valid SSL certificate.
Double-check that you're not using your CustomerPanel password instead of your cPanel password-they are different. Try pasting the password rather than typing it to avoid typos. If that doesn't work, reset the cPanel password via CustomerPanel as described above.
Multiple failed login attempts can trigger cPanel's brute force protection, blocking your IP temporarily (usually for 15–30 minutes). Wait and try again, or open a support ticket to have the block lifted immediately if you need urgent access.
Account suspension is usually due to an unpaid invoice, resource limit violations, or an abuse complaint. Log in to CustomerPanel to check your invoice status and open a billing or technical ticket to resolve the suspension.
