How to cancel your UnderHost account: step-by-step

Cancel your UnderHost hosting or domain through CustomerPanel. This guide covers the cancellation process, what happens to your data, and the refund policy.

Before cancelling, make sure you have a backup of your website files, databases, and email. Once a service is cancelled and removed, data cannot be recovered.

Back up before cancelling

Download a full cPanel backup before requesting cancellation. Go to cPanel → Backup Wizard → Download Full Website Backup. Store it locally or in cloud storage.

Cancelling a hosting plan

  1. Download your backup

Before cancelling, download a full backup of your website, databases, and email from cPanel.

  2. Log in to CustomerPanel

Go to customerpanel.ca and log in.

  3. Request cancellation

Go to Services → My Services, click your service, and look for a Request Cancellation option. Alternatively, open a Billing support ticket stating you'd like to cancel and your reason.

  4. Choose cancellation type

You'll typically be asked whether you want the cancellation to be Immediate (terminates now) or End of Billing Period (service continues until the current period expires-no further charges).

Cancelling a domain

Domains work differently from hosting. To stop a domain from renewing:

  • Go to Services → My Domains
  • Click the domain and look for Disable Auto-Renew
  • The domain will expire at the end of its current registration period

Note: Domain registrations are non-refundable once the domain has been registered. Turning off auto-renew simply means it will not be renewed automatically.

What happens to your data?

  • For immediate cancellations, access is removed and data deleted promptly
  • For end-of-period cancellations, you retain access until the billing period ends
  • After termination, data is not recoverable-ensure you have a local backup first

Refunds

Eligible first-time shared hosting and reseller hosting plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee only where expressly advertised. Shared hosting is available for refund during the first 14 days when it meets those eligibility terms.

Refunds are not automatic and may be denied for abuse, fraud, policy violations, chargebacks, excessive resource use, or services already provisioned or consumed.

VPS, cloud servers, dedicated servers, custom servers, setup fees, management fees, administration work, migrations, licenses, addons, IP addresses, domain registrations, domain renewals, domain transfers, redemption fees, SSL certificates, CDN services, control panel licenses, software licenses, and third-party costs are non-refundable after order, provisioning, registration, issuance, allocation, or delivery.
