Plesk on UnderHost: editions, licensing and setup

Choose a Plesk edition (Web Admin, Web Pro or Web Host), order the monthly licence in CustomerPanel for your Cloud VPS or dedicated server, install Plesk, and get started with WP Toolkit and free SSL.

On this page

Plesk is a server control panel for websites, email, databases and DNS. It runs on both Linux and Windows Server, which few panels do. UnderHost offers monthly Plesk licences for Cloud VPS and dedicated servers, with no lock-in contract. Every edition includes WP Toolkit, the Sitejet website builder, PostgreSQL and MSSQL modules and built-in Let's Encrypt SSL.

Plesk editions and prices

The editions differ mainly in the number of domains, the WP Toolkit level and reseller features. Prices are the same for Cloud VPS and dedicated servers.

What you need

  • A Cloud VPS or dedicated server. Plesk is a server control panel, so it is not available on shared hosting plans.
  • A supported operating system: a current release of AlmaLinux, Debian or Ubuntu, or Windows Server.
  • A fresh server. Control panels manage system-level settings, so install Plesk on a clean operating system, not on top of another panel.
  • The server's main IP address, which the licence order asks for.

Order a Plesk licence

  1. Choose the edition

On the Plesk page, click Buy Monthly on Web Admin, Web Pro or Web Host. This opens the order in CustomerPanel.

  2. Enter your server details

Fill in the IP address of the server and choose the Type: Cloud VPS or Dedicated.

  3. Complete the order

Check out and pay the first month. The licence is set up for the IP address you entered.

Changing the server's IP address

The licence is tied to the IP address in your order. If you move Plesk to another server or IP, open a ticket so the licence can be updated.

Install Plesk

The UnderHost team can install, migrate and manage Plesk servers for you. To install it yourself on Linux, connect to the fresh server as root and run Plesk's official installer:

as root
sh <(curl https://autoinstall.plesk.com/one-click-installer || wget -O - https://autoinstall.plesk.com/one-click-installer)

The installation takes a while. When it finishes, it shows a login link. Open the panel at https://your-server-ip:8443, log in as root with the server's root password, and follow the setup steps. On Windows Server, download the Plesk installer from plesk.com and run it as an administrator.

During setup, choose to use an existing licence and enter the licence details from your order. If you are not sure where to find them, open a ticket in @CustomerPanel.

First steps in Plesk

  • Add a site: Websites & Domains → Add Domain. Point the domain's DNS to the server first.
  • Turn on free SSL: Plesk includes Let's Encrypt. Open the domain and choose SSL/TLS Certificates to issue a certificate that renews automatically.
  • Install WordPress: open WordPress (WP Toolkit) and click Install. Web Pro and Web Host add staging, cloning and bulk updates.
  • Build a site without code: Sitejet Builder is included in every edition.
  • Check security: Plesk includes ModSecurity, fail2ban and WordPress vulnerability checks. Review them under Tools & Settings → Security.
  • Add tools: the extensions catalogue offers Git, Docker, Cloudflare and Imunify360 integrations.

Change edition

You can move from Web Admin to Web Pro or Web Host by contacting the support team. Upgrades take effect within hours, and your websites, data and settings are kept. If you need more domains than your edition allows, upgrade to a higher edition. The team can help you choose the most cost-effective option.

Move to Plesk from another panel

Migration to Plesk is free. Plesk includes the Plesk Migrator tool, which imports sites from cPanel and other panels, and the UnderHost team checks the result by hand. A migration typically completes within 24 hours. Start with How to request a free website migration.
