To configure an email client, you need your email address, password, and server settings. These are the same for all clients-only the interface differs.
Your mail server settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Incoming server (IMAP) | Your server hostname (e.g., server.underhost.com-see CustomerPanel service details) |
| IMAP port | 993 with SSL/TLS (recommended) |
| IMAP port (alternate) | 143 with STARTTLS |
| Outgoing server (SMTP) | Same hostname as incoming |
| SMTP port | 465 with SSL/TLS, or 587 with STARTTLS |
| Username | Your full email address (e.g., you@yourdomain.com) |
| Password | Email account password (set in cPanel Email Accounts) |
| Authentication | Normal password |
Find your server hostname in CustomerPanel → Services → your hosting → service details.

Mobile-iOS and Android
iOS (iPhone/iPad): Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account → enter name, email, password, description → tap Next → choose IMAP → enter incoming and outgoing server details → tap Next → Save.
Android: Open the Email or Mail app → Add account → Other → enter email and password → Manual setup → IMAP → enter server details → Save.
IMAP vs POP3
| IMAP | POP3 | |
|---|---|---|
| Email stored | On server (syncs across devices) | Downloaded locally (removed from server) |
| Multiple devices | Yes-all devices see the same mail | No-mail only on the device that downloaded it |
| Disk usage on server | Uses server quota | Minimal if delete-after-download is set |
| Best for | Most users-especially with multiple devices | Users with very limited hosting disk space |
Recommendation: Always use IMAP unless you have a specific reason to use POP3. IMAP keeps mail synchronized and means you won't lose email if you change devices.
