VPS snapshots capture a point-in-time image of your entire server. Create snapshots before major changes and restore them instantly if something goes wrong.

A VPS snapshot is an instant image of your server's disk at a specific point in time. If something breaks after a change, you can restore to the snapshot state-getting your server back exactly as it was in minutes.
Create a snapshot
- Log in to customerpanel.ca
- Go to Services → My Services → your VPS
- Find the Snapshots section
- Click Create Snapshot
- Give the snapshot a name (e.g., "Before cPanel install" or "Pre-2026-06-01")
- Click Create
Snapshot creation typically takes a few minutes. The VPS remains online during the process. The snapshot appears in the list with the creation timestamp.
Always snapshot before: OS upgrades, installing cPanel or other control panels, major configuration changes, s, or kernel updates. The snapshot lets you roll back in seconds if anything goes wrong.
Restore from snapshot
- Go to the Snapshots section in CustomerPanel
- Find the snapshot you want to restore
- Click Restore
- Confirm the restore-the VPS will revert to the snapshot state
Restoring a snapshot replaces everything on the disk with the snapshot state. Any data added or changed after the snapshot was taken is lost. The server is briefly offline during restore.
