How to change your DirectAdmin password

Change your DirectAdmin account password from inside the panel, or reset it via CustomerPanel if you are locked out.

On this page

Your DirectAdmin password is separate from your CustomerPanel billing password. Change it from inside DirectAdmin when you are logged in, or reset it from CustomerPanel if you cannot access the panel.

Change your password from inside DirectAdmin

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin

Open DirectAdmin at https://server.underhost.com:2222 and sign in with your hosting credentials.

  2. Go to Your Account

In the top right corner, click your username or go to Your Account → Change Password.

  3. Enter old and new passwords

Type your current password and then the new password twice to confirm. Choose a strong password-at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

  4. Save

Click Save. You will be logged out and need to sign back in with the new password.

Reset via CustomerPanel (if locked out)

  1. Log in to customerpanel.ca
  2. Go to Services → My Services and click your DirectAdmin hosting plan
  3. Find Change Password on the service details page
  4. Enter and confirm a new password, then save

The change applies immediately to your DirectAdmin account. You can now log in with the new password.

Password tips

  • Use a different password for DirectAdmin, email accounts, and CustomerPanel
  • Do not share your DirectAdmin password in support tickets or emails
  • If you need to grant a developer access, create a separate FTP account rather than sharing the main panel password
  • UnderHost support will never ask for your DirectAdmin password
