UnderHost CustomerPanel includes server management controls for eligible Cloud VPS and dedicated servers. These tools help you reboot a server, open a remote console, reinstall the operating system, and manage reverse DNS without waiting for a manual ticket for routine actions.

Overview

The old WHMCS knowledgebase called this the NOC Server Management API or remote console area. In current wording, think of it as the server controls inside CustomerPanel for VPS and dedicated services.

Access the dashboard

  1. Log in to CustomerPanel.
  2. Open Services and select the VPS or dedicated server.
  3. Review the management actions available for that service.

Available actions depend on the product type, virtualization platform, location, and management level.

Available actions

ActionUse it for
Remote consoleAccess the server when SSH/RDP is unavailable or firewall rules are wrong.
RebootRestart a frozen or unresponsive server after trying graceful methods first.
OS reinstallDeploy a clean operating system image. This is destructive.
Reverse DNSSet or request PTR/rDNS records for mail and hostname alignment.
Power controlsStart, stop, or power-cycle where the platform supports it.

Safety checks

  • Take or confirm backups before using reinstall or destructive actions.
  • Try an in-OS graceful reboot before a forced power cycle when possible.
  • Use remote console to verify boot errors, firewall lockouts, and disk issues.
  • Confirm the correct service before making changes if you manage multiple servers.
  • For managed servers, open a ticket if you are unsure whether an action may affect production workloads.

When to contact support

Open a support ticket if the management action is unavailable, the console does not load, a reinstall option is missing, rDNS does not update, or the server remains offline after a reboot. Include the service name, server IP, action attempted, timestamp, and any console error shown.
