cPanel stats: AWStats, Webalizer, and traffic reports
Use cPanel Metrics to review visitor statistics, bandwidth, raw access logs, errors, and FTP-related transfer usage.

cPanel Metrics turns server logs into readable reports. Use these reports to understand visitor trends, bandwidth usage, popular pages, bot traffic, FTP transfer volume, and recent errors.
Metrics overview
Log in to cPanel and open Metrics. Depending on the server configuration, you may see tools such as:

| Webalizer | Simple monthly trend graphs for hits, visits, pages, files, and bandwidth. |

| Raw Access | Downloadable access logs for exact request-level investigation. |
| Errors | Recent Apache and PHP errors affecting your websites. |
Some legacy cPanel articles mention older tools such as Analog Stats. Availability varies by cPanel version and server policy; use AWStats, Webalizer, Bandwidth, and Raw Access when those are the current tools exposed on your account.
AWStats
- Open cPanel.
- Go to Metrics and choose AWStats.
- Click View beside the domain you want to inspect.
AWStats is useful for a detailed view of unique visitors, visits, pages, hits, bandwidth, top URLs, referrers, search phrases, robots, and browser types.
Webalizer
Webalizer is simpler than AWStats and works well for quick monthly trends. Use it to compare traffic and bandwidth month over month, especially when you want a fast summary instead of request-level detail.
Bandwidth and FTP usage
Open Metrics and choose Bandwidth to review transfer totals. cPanel may separate usage by protocol, including HTTP/HTTPS web traffic, FTP transfers, SMTP, POP3, and IMAP.
If FTP traffic is unexpectedly high, check whether large backups, media folders, or files were uploaded or downloaded repeatedly. Delete temporary archives after confirming you have an off-account copy.
Limits of cPanel stats
- Stats are generated from logs and may not update in real time.
- Cached traffic served by Cloudflare or another CDN may not appear as origin traffic.
- Bot traffic can inflate hits and bandwidth.
- Statistics tools summarize logs; use Raw Access for exact IPs, URLs, and status codes.
- For resource limits such as CPU, memory, or entry processes, use cPanel Resource Usage instead.
