Track email delivery in cPanel
Use cPanel Track Delivery to troubleshoot missing messages, see whether mail was accepted, deferred, rejected, filtered, or routed to another server.
On this page
Track Delivery shows recent mail delivery attempts handled by the cPanel server. Use it when a sender says mail was sent but it did not arrive, or when outgoing mail appears delayed or rejected.
Search for a delivery attempt
- Log in to cPanel.
- Open Email and choose Track Delivery.
- Enter the recipient email address, or leave blank to show recent deliveries.
- Click Run Report or Show All.
- Open the details icon for the message you want to inspect.
Common statuses
| Status | Meaning | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Accepted | The server accepted the message. | Check mailbox quota, filters, spam folder, and email client sync. |
| Delivered | The message was delivered locally or to the next server. | If not visible, check folders and filters. |
| Deferred | Temporary delay. | Recipient server may be greylisting or temporarily unavailable. |
| Rejected | Delivery failed. | Read the SMTP error or bounce text. |
| Filtered | A filter acted on the message. | Review Email Filters and Global Email Filters. |
Next steps
- If Track Delivery shows no incoming attempt, ask the sender for the bounce message and check MX records.
- If mail was accepted but not visible, check Spam/Junk, Trash, filters, forwarders, and mailbox quota.
- If outgoing mail is rejected, review SPF/DKIM/DMARC and blacklist status.
- If the details are unclear, include the delivery record timestamp and recipient in a support ticket.
